One rule

Every shot is ammo and territory

Hit a player and they lose health. Miss, and your paint lands on the floor, the walls, the ceiling, and that ground is now yours. Their paint is now a trap.

Green is safe

Your team's paint always looks green to you. Run on it, wall-run along it, hook onto it.

Red hurts

Enemy paint always looks red. Step on it, run along it or grapple onto it and it burns. Paint over it to take it back.

15-second taster

Claim the floor

Tap, click or drag to splat green. The red team paints back. Own more floor when the clock runs out.

Ready to paint?

Keyboard: arrow keys aim, Space splats.

How it plays

Run the walls. Hook the sky. Paint everything.

Movement is half the fight. Chain a jump into a wall-run into a grapple and come down on them from above, but only on ground that's still yours.

First-person view in Sculpture Park: green paint trails across white stone and a red-painted ledge ahead

Paint is your weapon

Shoot players for the splat, or paint their escape route red and let the floor do the work. Paint traps count as your elimination.

Dockside at night: a paint launcher aims across stacked shipping containers splashed green and red

Wall-run and grapple

Long walls are lanes, not edges. A rope-and-winch hook swings you over gaps and off a red floor. Hook onto enemy paint and it hurts, so aim for green.

The map vote screen offering Pigment Works, Chalk Canyon and The Playroom

Vote, drop in, repeat

Pick the next map, play the round, stay for the next. Quick Play drops you straight into a match that's already running.

The arsenal

Six paint weapons. Zero gore.

Every weapon fires paint, and every one paints the arena differently. The best shot isn't always the one that hits a player.

Duels

Splat Pistol

Quick and accurate. Paints a little, splats a lot.

All-rounder

Streak Rifle

Solid hits and steady lines of paint. Good at everything.

Coverage

Spray Hose

Hoses down a whole corridor in seconds. Thin paint, huge reach.

Traps

Bucket Launcher

Slow to fire. Turns a landing spot into a lake of paint in one shot.

Area denial

Paint Bomb

Bounces, then bursts. Lock down a doorway or flush someone off a ledge.

Up close

Big Brush

Almost no range. A massive swipe of paint right where you stand.

Ten maps

Vote for where it happens

Three maps go on the ballot before every match, never the one you just played.

Canvas Yard

Open yard, wall-run lanes, a central tower and a sky bridge.

Skyline

Rooftop fights over a long drop to the streets. Hook or fall.

The Gallery

Long halls of blank canvases, low ceilings and a tall atrium.

Mural Alley

Narrow streets of giant mural walls. Run them, or paint them shut.

Pigment Works

A paint factory three floors high: vats below, catwalks above.

Chalk Canyon

Two mesas over a deep canyon. Bridges, arches and a long way down.

Dockside

Stacked containers, crane hooks and a pier. Every stack is a new angle.

Twin Spires

Two towers, bridges at every height. Own the bridges, own the sky.

Sculpture Park

Wide lawns and giant sculptures. Long sightlines; paint decides the paths.

The Playroom

A bedroom of giant blocks, books and crayons. Quick, close fights.

No waiting

There's always a match

Never an empty lobby

Bots fill every empty seat, then step aside as real players join. Press play and you're in a full match.

Bring your squad

Party up and you stay on the same team. Or open a private lobby and choose the mode, the map and the teams.

Play on anything

Keyboard and mouse, controller or touch. Computers, consoles and phones each get their own matches, so it's always fair.

Team or every-player-for-themselves

Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All, with four characters: Dash, Blot, Juno and Rook. Same stats, different style.

When does Season 1 start?

. The game is open now, and season progress you earn before then counts.

I'm a parent. What should I know?
